THE STUDIO

Our instructors are experienced and teach with empathy, skill and passion. We cater to individual needs, offering the appropriate exercises to develop optimal postural strength ensuring you achieve your maximal level of movement control. Classes have a maximum of four people with an emphasis on individual exercise prescription. 

Studio owner, Karen Jacobs is a Pilates Instructor, trained 20 years ago through the APMA and a specialist in human movement.

The Reformed Body’s Instructors are very well qualified in the Pilates Method and moving people is what they do best !

Once a well kept secret among dancers, Pilates is now a commonly recognized form of exercise recommended by health professionals. It doesn't matter how old or how fit you are, Pilates exercise can be done by all ages and people of all fitness levels. Pilates is an exercise technique developed more than eighty years ago by Joseph Pilates and embraced by people around the world to keep themselves in shape. The Pilates philosophy: A strong and stable core will re-energize the mind, body and soul... Described by many as 'intelligent exercise.'

The Pilates Method addresses poor posture by strengthening the deep muscles of the body that stabilize movement made by the more superficial muscles. Pilates is practiced to optimize long term health of the body, and to assist in improving inefficient posture, that may be causing pain/injuries to the body.


Car Parking Access at The Reformed Body

Due to firm Council terms and conditions in the permit for the business to operate we ask you to please adhere to park in the allocated car parking for our property.

Where you cannot park:

Please DO NOT park at any time in the Myotherapy clinic to the left of the Studio or in Mont Albert Radiology to the right of the Studio.

Where you can park !

Option 1

There is 1 onsite car park accessible up the lane which brings you to the rear of the property.

You will need to be confident in reversing up the lane way, requiring a reverse in from Belmore Rd and making a tight turn at the end or you can drive up the lane and reverse out. Please be aware of the footpath at the start of the lane especially as it’s a busy pedestrian crossing at school times and with pedestrians accessing the Medical Imaging Clinic.

You will need to park on the RIGHT, in front of the sliding door, giving access to the other tenant.

Option 2

The miniature train car park on Belmore Road (very close to the corner of Elgar Road). Cross at the pedestrian crossing and is easiest to enter the Studio from the street entrance on Elgar Rd. Access to the laneway leading into the rear of the Studio is directly across from the car park but there is no pedestrian crossing.

Option 3

Evangelical Chinese Church/ Bushy Creek Parklands Car Parking – Elgar Road. This car park lies closest to the pedestrian crossing and is on the intersection of Belmore and Elgar Roads. Easiest accessed if coming down Belmore Road, directly drive in. A right hand turn from Elgar Rd is possible but tricky if the roads are busy.

Option 4

Anthony Crescent - This is opposite the Studio. There is no direct pedestrian crossing across Elgar Road.
